Service Description
Slow down and explore watercolor as a meditative practice through simple shapes and layered color. In this class, we’ll build a soft tinted base, use tape, masking fluid, and optional wax resist to create clean, intentional shapes using an analogous color palette. The process is gentle, repetitive, and calming, inviting you to focus on rhythm, color, and presence. • Create layered watercolor backgrounds by starting with a tinted wash base • Explore the use of tape and resist techniques • Practice painting simple geometric shapes (circles, squares, triangles) • Work within an analogous color palette for harmony and flow • Experience watercolor as a calming, meditative process Materials Provided by Instructor: • Watercolor paper • Watercolor paints • Brushes (round recommended) • Masking tape or painter’s tape • White crayon (for resist) • Water containers + paper towels • Sample pieces for inspiration • Hairdryer • Pencils • Xacto knives • toothpicks Materials Students Need to Bring: - favorite watercolor brushes, bring your watercolors if you have them.
