Service Description
Come create dreamy backgrounds with watercolor washes. We will experiment with 1, 2, and 3 color combinations and some special effects. This is a beginner friendly class designed to help you experience watercolor, loosen up, play and experiment. And while our backgrounds dry, we will practice some brush techniques. Objectives / Learning Outcomes: • Paint at least 3 watercolor washes for backgrounds • Explore water-to-pigment ratios to control softness and intensity • Learn a few basic brush techniques for marks, texture, and flow • Create small background studies to build from and brainstorm on ideas of how to use them. Materials Provided by Instructor: • Watercolor paper • Watercolor paints • Brushes • Water containers • Paper towels • Demo samples Students bring (optional): • Favorite watercolor brushes and paint Instructor Bio: Cristina Kramp is an illustrator & lettering artist based in Kirkland, WA, with roots in Quito, Ecuador. She blends watercolor, acrylic, and gouache with the elegance of hand-drawn scripts to create art full of heart.
