The Sumi art emphasis on semi-abstract expression. This workshop will concentrate on learning the basic and authentic skills and techs of Sumi paining and comparison of western watercolor. It is the best for people who are interested to start this new oriental format of Sumi art and to loosen up a little of western watercolor style. Bring your own lunch and bring your own supplies or purchase from The Art Muse. We will start to paint Holiday flowers by using Sumi expressive brush strokes and composition will be one of the focal point of interests. Participants are encouraged to bring flowers to arrange and paint. This workshop welcomes beginning and professional artists. We will work a lot on individual base. Painters new to sumi-e, and those experienced in East Asian watercolor painting will be introduced and encouraged to look the “World” in a different artistic perspective. There will be demos, exercises, and one-on-one attention.
